A fantastically muddy time was had by all on 31st December when HRR hosted the Southern Cross Country League at Lord Wandsworth College. The course is always muddy but this year it was particular so due to the high level of rain in the preceding days, so well done to everyone who managed to get round unscathed and with both shoes still on! It was good to see so many Hart Road runners looking great in the new kit sporting the new Hart logo – a determined, focused Hart – an attitude required to complete the course. Our reward at the end was a delicious spread of sandwiches and yummy cake, which was worth wading through the mud to get too.
A few words from Ged, our coach:
Another great event held at Lord Wandsworth on 31st December. 420 runners enjoyed the muddy conditions of a “real” cross country event.
Team HRR organised a brilliant event and received much thanks and praise from the clubs who participated. We finished in 2nd place overall which is an outstanding achievement.
Let’s take this success down to Manor Farm on 21st January for the penultimate race of the season.
Once again, a big thanks to everyone who supported this years event and hope to see you all at Manor Farm on the 21st January.
